• One prenatal meeting to teach you the basics of breastfeeding and getting off to a good start
  

• Access to various breastfeeding DVD’s

• Even if I am not your birth doula, I come on the day of the birth to assist you  with initiating breastfeeding.
  

• 1 hour of breastfeeding support every single day for the first week after birth
  

• Watch you and guide you in learning to breastfeed, lending a helping hand and making recommendations that are within my scope as a doula
  

• On call by phone in the middle of the night during any breastfeeding “crisis”

• Assistance with:

            -Getting comfortable breastfeeding
            -Different ways to hold the baby
            -Positioning the baby at the breast
            -Getting a good latch
            -Learning to identify the difference between sucking and drinking
            -Learning breast compression
            -Setting up nursing stations around your house
            -Integrating nursing time as a special time with your older children as well

I have helped many women and babies nurse.  I know about normal breastfeeding and can help you avoid the common problems that lead to both physically painful and emotionally painful crises for many new moms.  One of my goals with the breastfeeding package is to hold the space for you and your baby to make breastfeeding something that you both love to do.
